JOB OPENING: Marketing Director

Job Overview:

Unmanageable is seeking a Marketing Director to lead digital marketing efforts. This is a part-time, grant-funded role with the potential for extension based on future funding. The position offers flexible hours, remote work, and the opportunity to work in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Marketing:

  • Create and manage a social media calendar to maintain a consistent online presence.

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase the reach and visibility of Unmanageable’s projects and mission.

  • Oversee the marketing timeline, managing the roll-out of campaigns for various projects.

  • Engage with artists, commenters, and partners via social media to enhance community engagement.

  • Manage and host online digital events (e.g., Instagram Live conversations with artists).

  • Stay updated on digital marketing trends and best practices to ensure innovative approaches.

  • Create and design digital content, including graphics and video clips for social media and other marketing platforms.

  • Design marketing collateral such as project one-sheets and pitch decks.

  • Build and distribute Unmanageable’s newsletters.

  • Update and manage the organization’s website.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in digital marketing and campaign management.

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, graphic design, and content creation.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, and WordPress (or similar website management tools).

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of nonprofit operations is desirable but not required.

Compensation:

  • $40/hour

  • 5-10 hours per week

  • 24 weeks, with an anticipated start date of March 15, 2025.

Additional Information:

  • This is a contract position funded by a grant, with the possibility of extending based on future funding.

  • Flexible hours and a remote work setup.

  • Travel may be required depending on the needs of the role and the candidate's interest.

Founded in 2019 by two women with experience in the commercial music and nonprofit arts sectors, Unmanageable was born from a shared vision to build community through art, independent of traditional commercial structures. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Tennessee.
